Which Apple smartphone is the best choice for you?
When deciding to buy a new smartphone you must have into consideration the following:
- How much are you willing to spend or what’s your budget?
- What are you going to use it for? Playing games, watching youtube videos, taking pictures…
- What are your preferences in color and size?
Thanks to Apple, you have plenty of options to choose from. Now, let’s review them one by one.
Screen: 6.1in Super Retina XDR (OLED) (460ppi)
Processor: Apple A14 Bionic
Storage: 64, 128 or 256GB
Operating system: iOS 14
Camera: dual 12MP rear cameras with OIS, 12MP front-facing camera
Connectivity: LTE, wifi 6, NFC, Bluetooth 5, Lightning, ultra-wideband and location
Water resistance: IP68 (6 meters for 30 mins)
Dimensions: 146.7mm x 71.5mm x 7.4mm
The best smartphone money can buy. The device delivers impressive picture and sound quality in a premium smartphone package.
Pricier than its predecessor, the smartphone comes with a new screen, a new processor (A14 Bionic chip and next-gen Neural Engine), and it’s capable of performing some new party tricks including, for the first time, 5G support.
The camera might be a little too similar to last year’s iPhone, the main difference is that you can take better pictures in low-light. The new Wide camera brings in 27 percent more light. When it comes to video, you can record in Dolby Vision at 30 frames per second, a good feature for vloggers. You can use it to record your new youtube videos.
The new smartphone still has the old Lightning port in the bottom, not the newer and universal USB-C port, and has Apple’s new MagSafe technology. The MagSafe Charger is designed to quickly and safely charge the device wirelessly.
The battery life is close to its predecessor, at around 17 hours for video and 65 hours for audio playback. There is room for improvement. Some rival smartphone devices have bigger batteries that last longer. Not giving names…
It is disappointing, though, to say the iPhone 12 comes without a charging plug or wired earphones in the box. That will drive Apple customers to spend extra on plugs and AirPods along with their new smartphone.
iPhone 12 mini
Known as the King of small smartphones, this incredible device has a lot going on under its hood. Even though it shares a lot of the same features as its bigger brother, some customers might find its size too small. Still, it’s 5G enabled, and the cheapest of all the iPhone 12 range.
Screen: 5.4in Super Retina XDR (OLED) (476ppi)
Dimensions: 131.5mm x 64.2mm x 7.4mm
The only noticeable difference comes in battery capacity. And there is a reason for that: the size of the gadget. The iPhone 12 mini comes with a small 2,227 mAh battery.
For those on a budget and with smaller hands, this is the one for you.
